Sherin Shirazi MD FACS has over 20 years of experience in the field of general surgery with a sub-specialty focus in breast surgical care.  She is an expert focused on personalized breast cancer treatment using a tailored treatment approach for each patient based on lifestyle and genetic predisposition.

 

In addition to her clinical practice, she devotes time to participate in the national and international breast cancer meetings. She also devoted  six years to basic science laboratory research to improve her understanding of breast cancer biology while she pursued and obtained her PhD in molecular biology . Her career path has taken her around the world: she has practiced and participated in cooperative trials in Sweden, Norway, Egypt, Atlanta, New York, and with the Department of Defense in Hawai’i. She has worked with basic scientists, cooperative clinical groups and large pharmaceutical companies to help develop leading drugs in the fight against breast cancer.

Dr. Shirazi is a board-certified general surgeon, licensed to practice in the state of California and Hawai’i. She is a graduate of the prestigious Emory University School of Medicine, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery. She has also received several awards related to her excellent patient care.
